Mike Macek

With 15 years of experience in the chemical process and energy industries, Mr. Macek brings experience in both plant operations management and strategy, M&A, and operational profitability improvement engagements.
Mr. Macek’s notable assignments include operational due diligence on a private equity owned chemical manufacturer acquiring their largest global competitor, and post-merger leadership, including PMO leadership, reporting directly to CEO and Board of Directors, of multiple phases of performance improvement for one year, driving operational excellence and restructuring in their global assets to capture $25 million.
Previously, Mr. Macek led a rapid EBITDA improvement assessment for a publicly traded $500 million chemicals company, identifying $19 million in improvement opportunities. He then handled on-site leadership coaching, improving production loss accounting, developing critical care asset plans improving onstream availability, improving data driven management and recommending key organizational changes. Prior to this, Mr. Macek managed a growth strategy due diligence for a $10 billion EPC company for inclusion in their annual board of directors meeting, including swift assessments of market, competitor, and ESG outlooks.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Macek served as an Engagement Manager at PwC, leading management and strategy consulting projects in the chemicals, pharmaceutical, power and utilities, and EPC industries. Earlier in his career, Mr. Macek held refinery plant operations management roles with BP Oil.
Mr. Macek earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
