Mike Darland

Mr. Darland has served in enterprise leadership positions and as an adviser or consultant to many large and mid-market commercial companies. He specializes in interim leadership, pre-acquisition due diligence, acquisition integration, enterprise and operational performance improvement, integrated supply chain management and corporate strategy, with experience in a variety of industries.
Mr. Darland’s notable engagements include serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a highly patented water distillation system; CEO of a restructured cabinetry company; Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the world’s largest greenhouse facilities; and COO of a food processing company. He also served as Chief Supply Chain Officer for a major casino resort; led the operational restructuring of an $8 billion agribusiness; and led the turnaround as Chief Restructuring Officer for a $100 million food processing company.
Mr. Darland has led pre-acquisition due diligence teams for many private equity investments in diverse business sectors and led multiple assessments and performance improvement activities for companies across a wide range of industries.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Darland was a Director with Deloitte Corporate Restructuring and a Partner with CRG Partners, a national turnaround and performance improvement group. Previously, he was VP of Supply Chain and Chief Procurement Officer for a multibillion-dollar integrated pulp and paper company and served as a senior executive for a multibillion-dollar consumer products company. Mr. Darland is a retired senior Naval Officer, having commanded five unique units – operational tactical, support and senior staff. As a nuclear submarine officer, he was certified as a professional engineer on multiple reactor facilities.
Mr. Darland earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and nuclear engineering (high honors) from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA in finance and strategic planning from the University of Massachusetts. He is a Certified Professional in supply management.
