Tim Metzgen

Mr. Metzgen provides business advice to listed and private clients about a wide range of debt products (DCM, private placements, ABL, investment grade, leveraged and structured finance) throughout the EMEA region.
Some of Mr. Metzgen’s notable recent transactions include a debut $1.1 billion non-investment-grade high-yield bond issue for a global packaging business; a £1 billion investment-grade credit facility for a U.K. listed retailer; a private placement for one of the leading global international auction houses; and multiple leveraged acquisition financings, notably in the mid-market, including covering recurring revenue and asset backed.
Mr. Metzgen has also handled multiple turnaround refinancings in the energy, consumer, leisure and retail sectors and a full business securitisation and refinancing for a global leading car leasing business.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Metzgen worked with Marlborough Partners, a leading debt advisory boutique. Previously, he spent 15 years with the KPMG debt advisory team advising on 100+ engagements across the range of debt products, sectors and types of businesses. He also brings a wealth of banking experience from his time in the Fixed Income teams (debt capital markets, private placements and liability management) at RBC, JPM and BarCap.
Mr. Metzgen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nottingham. He has been a Trustee of the Haemophilia Society. Mr. Metzgen a dual national of the U.K. and Belize, is fluent in English and French and is learning Arabic.
