Nicholas Reid

Mr. Reid’s notable assignments include operational excellence programs, operating model and organization structure redesigns, turnaround and cost reduction efforts and large project capital management. Examples of his recent accomplishments include leading the program to deploy a safe production system across 50 sites for a global mining company; redesigning the organization structure for the Middle Eastern business unit of a global energy company; leading a program of rapid cost-out initiatives for an iron ore junior, including re-organization of all functions and operational teams; and spearheading a series of value improvement initiatives, including reduction in all external spend, at a multi-billion dollar greenfield mining project in North America.
Additionally, Mr. Reid has extensive experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, having led strategic due diligence projects ahead of transactions in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, in telco and energy sectors for assets of combined value over $30 billion. He has also overseen three major post-merger-integration efforts within publicly listed companies, successfully ensuring business continuity whilst meeting value-creation objectives in each case.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Reid served as Partner with BCG in Perth, where he led the operations accelerator for resources companies and the end-to-end operations improvement topic for the mining sector in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Reid earned bachelor’s degrees in engineering and science (first class honors) from The University of Melbourne (National Scholar) and an MBA from The London Business School (concentration in operational science and finance) (Annual Fund Scholar).
