Nicholas Schwarzmiller

Mr. Schwarzmiller has worked with clients across a range of industries, including mining, energy, heavy industry, financial services and alternative asset managers. He has advised the Board of the General Partner (on behalf of the fund) in terms of managing affairs of the fund in restructuring, operating structure, fund management, portfolio company representation and disposal strategy, while working with joint venture partners and operating company boards to define operating strategy and value creation.
Additionally, Mr. Schwarzmiller has led large-scale U.S., European and emerging market projects. His notable assignments include the restructuring of the Infrastructure Growth Capital Fund (an Abraaj fund), New World Resources Plc, ASA Resources Group Plc, Avocet Mining Plc, BSG Resources and numerous PE/hedge funds.
Recently, Mr. Schwarzmiller served as an advisor to the Independent Director of the General Partner of the Infrastructure Growth Capital Fund, where he supported strategy and analysis for directorship appointments to multiple investment special purpose entities to oversee the sale strategy and process for the fund’s remaining investments, including a $1.7 billion power station and an oil refinery. He also worked on a structured GP and LP stake sale process with numerous stakeholders; handled forensic investigations into the fund’s history, including fraud allegations; and pursued potential claims against third parties.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Schwarzmiller served as Director with Duff & Phelps’ Global Valuation and Restructuring practices. He advised stakeholders on valuations often used in the context of transactions and restructurings such as dividend recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts or debt enforcement. In addition, he worked with numerous PE/hedge funds in value private illiquid hard to value securities such as unlisted equity, private debt (performing and distressed), convertible securities, royalties, off-takes, hybrid securities, portfolios for the purpose of periodic net asset value reporting for investors.
Mr. Schwarzmiller earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Washington.
