Marios Koliopoulos

Mr. Koliopoulos brings 28 years of professional experience as a consultant and practitioner. He has extensive experience in transformation, turnaround and restructuring, operating model design, and transaction advisory in various industries with a focus on financial services.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Koliopoulos served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, the entity managing the €50 billion allocated for the recapitalization and stability of the Greek banking sector within the Greek bailout program. In this role, he handled the €28 billion recapitalization of the four systemic Greek banks, the accelerated recapitalization of a systemic bank that failed to raise private capital, and the liability management exercises of the systemic banks.
Previously, Mr. Koliopoulos served as a Financial Advisor with Hellenic Petroleum (now operating as HelleniQ Energy), where he led the structuring and execution of complex and inaugural debt-capital-raising transactions. He also led activities in Greece for Bank of America, serving as General Manager of a branch and as a Managing Director in corporate and investment banking. Mr. Koliopoulos was also involved in project and asset finance transactions with Kvaerner’s Corporate Development practice in London.
Mr. Koliopoulos earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA and a master’s degree in advanced mechanical engineering from Imperial College London.
