Karla Covarrubias

Specializing in tax advisory services, her areas of expertise include tax due diligence, financial tax model advisory (particularly in project finance), tax planning strategies, and daily tax advisory support.
With over 15 years of experience in tax, Ms. Covarrubias has contributed to numerous tax due diligence projects, identifying potential contingencies that could arise in share and asset purchase or sale transactions. She also provides recommendations to mitigate risks associated with these contingencies. In her modeling work, Ms. Covarrubias reviews and prepares projections for both domestic and international investment projects in Mexico, developed by clients and financial institutions. She ensures these projections align with current tax regulations and advises on the efficiency of tax inputs based on the specific sector involved. Additionally, she has been involved in financial closings alongside clients and financial institutions to facilitate the disbursement of funds.
Before joining A&M, Ms. Covarrubias spent eight years with EY’s Transaction Tax team in Mexico City, where she most recently held the role of Tax Manager.
Ms. Covarrubias earned a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
