Joseph Thia

At A&M, Mr. Thia leads the Financial Due Diligence team working on mid-market private equity transactions for clients, such as Platinum Equity, EQT/BPEA and Novo Tellus. One of the notable transactions was BPEA EQT’s acquisition of Viewpoint, a provider of entity governance solutions, and its subsequent merger with TrustQuay.
Previously, Mr. Thia was the Chief Financial Officer at Rukita, an early stage Proptech company providing long term affordable rental solutions, in Indonesia. Before that, he spent three years as a growth stage Venture Capitalist, where he performed due diligence on more than 100 growth stage companies (Series A+, B and C funding rounds) across Southeast Asia.
Additionally, as the former Investment Manager at Burda Principal Investments, Mr. Thia participated in the board meetings of Carsome, Hmlet and Priceza. He was also seconded to be an interim CFO at Hmlet, a coliving operator headquartered in Singapore, to spearhead its turnaround. Mr. Thia began his career in Southeast Asia M&A with Ernst & Young after securing an internal transfer from the Audit team.
Mr. Thia earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Nanyang Business School. His qualifications include Chartered Accountant of Singapore.
