Jeff Domal

Mr. Domal’s primary areas of concentration include real estate company and family office roll-ups, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, UPREIT and UP-C transactions, and privatizations, with deep expertise in the federal and state taxation of partnerships, REITs and S-corporations, including entities with foreign and tax-exempt investors and foreign activities.
With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Domal has dedicated his career to delivering both target-specific and comprehensive solutions to his clients, including asset acquisition and disposition structuring, entity formation and liquidation consulting, and enterprise and entity restructuring. He has also developed and implemented various tax minimization and deferral strategies for his clients.
Mr. Domal serves a broad array of clients, including residential, commercial, and hospitality operators and developers; tax-exempt and foreign investors; pension fund advisors; real estate private equity and opportunity funds; debt funds; real estate operating companies (including property management companies); and real estate investment trusts. He has also served clients in the homebuilding and land development businesses. His notable assignments include work with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, The Lewis Companies, Public Storage, Douglas Emmett, Eastdil Secured Holdings, KBS Realty, Westfield Group, Griffin Realty Trust, American Healthcare REIT, Kilroy Realty and The Irvine Company.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Domal was a Senior Partner at EY and more recently Andersen Tax, where he led EY and Andersen’s Southern California Real Estate Tax practices. Over his career, he has provided strategic tax consulting services to regional, national and global real estate companies and developed creative, client-specific solutions that maximize the after-tax economic results to his clients.
Mr. Domal earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Denver. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California.
