Jacob Sonsel

With more than 24 years of operations experience, Mr. Sonsel has held significant P&L responsibility and led major transformation projects.
Mr. Sonsel’s notable assignments include establishing a CCUS/low carbon business unit within an offshore oil and gas operator and developing the operations playbook for a mid-cap Bakken producer. Most recently, he was responsible for redesigning the operating model of a leading natural gas compression provider, including organization design, core process updates and enabling technology implementation.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sonsel spent five years with The Carnrite Group in Houston, where he served as a Senior Director, managing several engagements across their Performance Improvement practice.
Previously, Mr. Sonsel was an Operations Manager with FMC Technologies, covering the U.S. mid-continent with oversight of wellhead, frac rental equipment and fluid control services product lines. His responsibilities included P&L management, strategy development and implementation, material and labor planning, and capital budgeting. Earlier, he was a U.S. Marine Corps officer, where he piloted CH-53E assault support helicopters conducting multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mr. Sonsel earned a bachelor's degree in agribusiness from Texas A&M University and an MBA in energy from the University of Oklahoma. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certificate from Villanova University and a Change Management Professional certification from Prosci. Mr. Sonsel is an adjunct instructor at the University of Oklahoma, where he lectures on ESG, sustainability and carbon management for their Executive MBA program.
