Mr. Tanwar's specialization encompasses a wide range of areas, including intricate sales tax issues affecting non-residents, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions. He is particularly adept at addressing the implications of Canadian sales tax laws on digital economy businesses, serving as a crucial advisor to businesses navigating these evolving challenges.
Throughout his career, Mr. Tanwar has provided strategic tax advice to a diverse array of industries, such as consumer goods, manufacturing, energy and resources, software and digital services, financial technology, online marketplaces and accommodation platforms.
Mr. Tanwar’s extensive experience spans multiple jurisdictions, including both Canada and India, enabling him to deliver nuanced insights and tailored solutions that address the unique indirect tax challenges faced by clients’ with global operations.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tanwar spent six years with Deloitte in Canada, where he most recently served as a Senior Manager in their Indirect Tax Advisory practice. His primary focus was on Canadian sales tax laws at both federal and provincial levels.
Mr. Tanwar earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a bachelor’s degree in law.
