David McArtney, a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal brings more than 20 years of advisory experience working with boards and management teams to effect operational and financial improvements. He has many years of experience in performance improvement (including cost reduction, EBITDA improvement, carve outs, shared services and outsourcing and offshoring) and operational due diligence experience across multiple industries.

He is currently Program Director for the transformation of the shared service unit of a large outsourcing business. Previously he was part of a team carrying out a performance review of a medical product distributor focused on their operations in eight European countries.

Mr. McArtney’s notable assignment include developing the operating model for the carve out of an asset management servicing platform from a major Spanish bank. This involved identifying resources by location, process and IT requirements and a 100 day plan. Carrying out an EBITDA improvement exercise focused on headquarters, country and clinic operations for a healthcare business. Revenue enhancement opportunities were identified together with cost reductions and a delivery plan put in place. In the motor manufacturing space, he identified steps, issues and a plan to deliver a carve out of four manufacturing sites in 3 countries and an R&D center involving over 3000 staff and subsequent merger integration with a joint venture partner. Subsequent stage was to develop broad scope LTA and TSAs covering IT, logistics and use of IP, facilities management etc. Additionally, he provided his expertise for the delivery of BA’s Global Shared service organization. This included centralizing various functions from airports and divisions of BA and outsourcing routine manual tasks to India.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. McArtney’s experience covers a wide variety of industries. Before joining A&M, Mr. McArtney was with Ernst & Young and AT Kearney and in industry.

Mr. McArtney is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and has a bachelor’s degree in economics.
