Borja Escrivá de Romaní is a Managing Director with Alvarez and Marsal Tax in Madrid. Mr. Escrivá de Romaní brings more than 30 years of experience as a tax advisor, specialising in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and corporate and financial restructuring of multinational groups.
Mr. Escrivá de Romaní works with large corporations and financial investors (mainly Spanish and international private equity, real estate and infrastructure/energy funds), providing transaction advice from a tax perspective on due diligence, deal structure, financial models, sale and purchase agreements, financing documents and management incentive packages.
Mr. Escrivá de Romaní has experience with fund and carried-interest tax structuring. He has provided recurring tax advice on direct/indirect taxation and tax audits and proceedings for Spanish and multinational corporate groups and has participated in complex debt refinancing and restructuring processes.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Escrivá de Romaní was a Deloitte Spain partner for 20 years. He successfully developed and trained a team of M&A tax professionals and carried out key management responsibilities.
Mr. Escrivá de Romaní started his career as a tax lawyer with the law firm Bufete Jose Mario Armero. He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and a frequent speaker on transaction tax matters.
