Andrew Drennan is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in London. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and testifying quantum expert, he brings more than 25 years of experience in construction disputes.

Mr. Drennan’s primary areas of concentration are expert witness services in international arbitration and litigation and quantity surveying, procurement, commercial management, project management and contract management. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including construction, engineering, infrastructure, power, nuclear and utilities, oil and gas and aerospace and defense.

Mr. Drennan has served as an expert in matters involving the evaluation of the cost of construction and engineering projects; defects/remedial works in civil engineering and buildings cases; assessments of the costs on termination; independent opinions on the duty of care of quantity surveyors; and assessments of gross negligence involving contractors.

Additionally, Mr. Drennan regularly serves as an expert on the analysis of disruption, resource thickening, procurement, tendering, analysis of actual costs, assessments of defect remediation costs and remeasurement of works under various forms of measurement.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Drennan spent five years with HKA, where he most recently served as Partner in Scotland and London. Previously, he spent five years as an Associate Director at Driver Trett. He has held senior commercial roles across the construction and infrastructure sectors. Mr. Drennan served as a Commercial Manager at various construction firms and a Managing Quantity Surveyor at civil engineering and infrastructure firms.

Mr. Drennan earned a bachelor’s degree (honors) in building surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University and an LLM in construction law from Strathclyde Law School. He also has qualified in Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence and has completed a diploma in leading professional services firms at Oxford University, Saïd Business School. Mr. Drennan is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Academy of Experts.
