Vincent van Liere is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Turnaround in Amsterdam. He specializes in assisting companies facing stressed or distressed situations. Mr. Liere has worked across a range of industries, including shipping, offshore, construction, healthcare, retail and banking.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Liere has advised listed companies, family-owned businesses, private equity, shareholders and lenders. He has also been involved in many steering committees for restructuring cases in the Benelux.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Liere founded the Dutch office for 8Advisory. Previously, he spent more than 20 years with ING in various management roles (both on the commercial and risk side) and led the firm’s Benelux restructuring teams for six years.

Recently, Mr. Liere served as Financial Advisor with a leading worldwide Offshore company, where he assisted with cash flow and guarantee forecasting; built a dynamic model for the different business units; validated the business plan for lenders; and negotiated amendment and waivers and steering the longer-term refinancing. He was also involved in the largest bankruptcy case in the Netherlands and was appointed board-member of Postkantoren, a joint venture between PostNL and ING operating a (franchise) countrywide retail network of ~350 shops.

Mr. van Liere earned a master’s degree in financial economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
