Charlie Lydon

With more than 15 years of experience in professional services and operational roles in the Middle East and Europe, Mr. Lydon has extensive experience working with international and regional clients, including private equity, sovereign wealth, public and private businesses and eminent family offices. Additionally, he has significant expertise across the oil and gas, TMT, industrial and manufacturing and consumer business sectors, having performed senior corporate development and commercial finance roles in major organizations in these areas.
Mr. Lydon’s notable operational roles include Head of Commercial Finance for TAQA (part of ADQ), where he led the budgeting process and supported the successful execution of a $2 billion cost reduction program; FP&A Director at Doncasters Group, where he supported a £1.5 billion debt restructuring, managed the sale of business units worth £100 million and created performance improvement plans which delivered over £25 million EBITDA improvements; and Commercial Finance Director for Sage Plc, where he designed and implemented a new operating model for the commercial finance function and implemented new reporting tools and metrics appropriate for a SaaS business, leading to over £100 million of investment being reallocated to high growth cloud products.
Previously, Mr. Lydon spent 12 years with Deloitte, where he most recently served as Director in the Financial Advisory practice in both the Middle East and the U.K. During his time at Deloitte, he successfully restructured over £10 billion in debt obligations and delivered performance improvement initiatives, creating over £2 billion in value for clients.
Mr. Lydon earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nottingham. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an EMBA Candidate at Bayes Business School.
