Sergio Moro joined A&M as a Managing Director in the Disputes and Investigations practice on December 1, 2020. Prior to joining A&M, Mr Moro issued a legal opinion (the ‘legal opinion’) in his name in connection with an engagement by the Israeli businessman, Benjamin Steinmetz. The legal opinion has been subject of recent coverage in the Brazilian media. In the light of this coverage, A&M wishes to make this clarificatory statement. The legal opinion is not an opinion of A&M and it has not become one by reason of Mr Moro joining A&M. The fact of A&M recruiting and employing Mr Moro does not amount to and should not be considered as any acceptance, endorsement or commentary whatsoever on the legal opinion or its content. Mr Moro has no obligation to participate in any ongoing matter, process or dispute relating to the legal opinion or its contents and has no intention to do so.

Further, with reference to the insolvency of BSG Resources Limited in Guernsey, where personnel of A&M in England are appointed as Joint Administrators, the Joint Administrators have considered the matter carefully and are satisfied that there is no threat to their objectivity in discharging their duties at this time.
