Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announces the appointment of Jason Yum as Senior Director to its Corporate Performance Improvement group in Seattle. Mr. Yum’s deep experience in technology, particularly in emerging cryptography and digital transformation, will serve as a key component in expanding A&M’s capabilities and services on the West Coast.

Mr. Yum’s international profile includes significant operational and consulting experience serving in senior positions at the world’s most well-known technology companies. He is a recognized leader in digital strategy, transformation and emerging technologies such as blockchain. He has worked in Seattle, Toronto, and Seoul, South Korea.

Mr. Yum joined A&M from IBM where his responsibilities in digital strategy included working in business transformation and blockchain. He also worked for seven years at Microsoft Corporation where he led the Ecosystem Team Lead, Operating Systems Group and Startup Business Group. Mr. Yum also has cross-border experience as he worked at Samsung Electronics and Accenture in Canada, and Bain and Company in South Korea.

Mr. Yum earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in cognitive science from Brown University, an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a graduate of Harvard’s Executive Program in Digital Strategy. Mr. Yum served in the Republic of Korea Army as an intelligence analyst. He is a recipient of the United States Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service, which he earned for participating in joint operations with the United States forces in Korea.
